Sweet Home Alabama

November 18, 2005

I have to admit, Alabama is growing on me. It is really nice to be around family, you forget how nice that can be after 8 years away from home. Speaking of family, I had a nice visit with Adam and got to see Aunt Pam and Uncle John as well.

I went on a job interview today that I thought went really well. It’s working with kids, which I don’t have much experience with, but hopefully I’ll get the job. I really liked the woman I interviewed with and she was from Alexandria, so not being a local shouldn’t count against me. Keep your fingers crossed, I really want this one.

Setting up house is going well. I’ve stalled out somewhat because I have to get through a knitting project to start a cross-stitch I’m entirely too excited about. Cable is coming tomorrow, which also endlessly excites me. Life is full of small pleasures.

Elizabeth, Chris’s little sister, and I have been running around together having lots of fun. She has a five month old Shelby who keeps us laughing because she thinks she is a baby dinosaur. She growls as her primary means of communication. It’s hysterical. I’ll post some pictures once we have internet at our house up and running.

New Keys

Chris and I rented a really cute house with our friend Mike. It’s cute and clean and close to “downtown”. It’s nice to get our things out of storage and have our own space. I’m keeping fairly busy setting up house and spending time with family. I went to a presentation at my neice’s school where she dressed up as Bette Nesmith, inventor of white out, and told of her invention. Quite cute. Adam should be stopping over for a visit in a few days. He was in San Antonio when I spoke with him last night, and his road trip is going well.
